FAQS

What happens in the first session?

The first session is usually an assessment session where we talk about your history, your concerns, your aims for therapy to see if working together be the right support for you

How many sessions will I need?

We can decide this together as we explore the goals for therapy. You may decide that short term therapy (a limited number of sessions between 6-12 as agreed) might be suited to your situation or you may decide that open ended support is more appropriate for your needs and situation.

How often will we meet?

Counselling sessions are usually once a week, this can however be flexible depending on your individual situation. Some people prefer to meet fortnightly whilst others may want to meet twice a week if they are seeking additional support during a specific period of difficulty.

How long will sessions last?

The therapeutic hour is usually 50 minutes long, however the assessment (first) session will be 60 minutes long as we will be collecting information.

Single Sessions (please see services list on home page) are 90 minutes long.
